Disability Programs and Employer Services

 

Interwork’s programs, support and services are provided to our employers at no cost and are funded by the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR).

Over the past decade Interwork has partnered with over 500 employers and community organisations to create employment opportunities for people with a diverse range of abilities.  For the employer potential business benefits may include wage and training subsidies, workplace modifications funding or ongoing assistance to integrate staff with disabilities into the workplace.

We recognize that employers play a vital role in helping people move into work through workplacement , training and employment opportunities. The team at Interwork are prepared and committed to working one-on-one with employers  to help identify and resolve and potential issues.

Our value-added recruitment services include:

  • Ongoing Advice and Support
    Our Support Workers provide one-on-one support in the workplace to both you and your employee.  Support is available when and where you need it, for as long as you need it.

  • Wage Subsidies
    Access to wage subsidies is available through the Wage Subsidy Scheme that offers financial assistance to employers of eligible employees.

  • Supported Wage System
    Where required, eligible employers and their employees can choose to access a process of productivity-based wage assessment to determine fair pay for fair work.

  • Disability Apprenticeship and Traineeship Funding
    We provide access to funding and subsidies including wage support, tutorial, interpreter and mentor services.

  • Job in Jeopardy
    Assistance including immediate funding and support with job design, restructure and/or workplace adjustment to ensure your employee maintains their job if it is at risk as a result of issues related to their disability.

  • Work Trial Placements
    Work trials provide your business the opportunity to explore a potential employee’s suitability to the role.

  • Workplace Modifications
    Funding for workplace modifications or the purchase of specialised equipment for new or existing employees where required.

  • Interpreting Assistance   Assistance to employ or to help existing hearing impaired or Deaf employees maximise their ability and workplace independence through the Auslan for Employment Program.
