Interwork Named Finalist in National Work-Family Awards

Interwork has been named a finalist in the 2007 Prime Minister’s National Work-Family Awards.

Interwork was the only South Australian organisation representing the state at the prestigious awards ceremony held last night at Doltone House, Sydney.

It is the first time Interwork has taken part in the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Business Council of Australia awards that recognise Australian organisations accommodating the work-life needs of employees.

Interwork CEO Rosemary Wallage says it is encouraging to have the organisation’s strategies to provide flexibility in the workplace to enable a better work-life balance for all staff recognised by the national business community.

“We have set up policies and procedures to empower staff to control their workflow, and better balance the priorities of their personal and professional lives.”

“Importantly, our staff provide direct feed-back on these policies so they can be refined and improved over time. As a result, managers report a high level of reliability from staff, with low rates of absenteeism and turnover.”

Ms Wallage says this whole-of-life approach has resulted in a positive workplace environment at Interwork, resulting in greater customer service, productivity, and increased outcomes for Interwork employers and job seekers.
