Fibrelogic Commended in Prime Minister Employer of the Year Awards
Interwork is proud to announce Fibrelogic Pipe Systems Pty Ltd received a high commendation for the 2007 Prime Minister’s Employer of the Year Awards.
Announced last night at the awards ceremony held at a gala event at Parliament House, Fibrelogic achieved the High Commendation for the Large Employer Category, open to organisations employing more than 100 staff.
Around 450 guests attended the ceremony including the Minister for Workforce Participation, Dr Sharman Stone MP; other Members of Parliament, Senators, employers, employees and industry representatives.
The awards recognise excellence in the employment of people with disability and winners and finalists are selected from hundreds of nominations Australia wide.
Selection is based on a number of criteria including:
- Conditions of employment (entitlements, type of employment etc);
- Length of employment;
- Nature of work;
- Inclusive practices within the workplace; and
- Initiatives undertaken by the employer to assist employee(s)
Every year Interwork nominates our dedicated employers who have demonstrated the many benefits of a commitment to employing people with disability in the workplace.
Employers put forward for the awards in 2007 include Wilson’s Wool, Coles Burnside, Femsure Hygiene, The Country Bakehouse (Loxton), Yandilla Park and Autolai (RAF) Pty Ltd (Mobil).
Some of our previous winners of the award include Coles, L’Abruzzese Pty Ltd and Haighs Manufacturing Pty Ltd. Haighs was recently inducted into the Hall of Fame, having won the Medium Employer category on three consecutive occasions.
