Disability Expo 2007
Interwork exhibited again at the DisAbility Expo held 28 September at Allan Scott Park Racecourse, Morphettville.
DisAbility co-founder Ms Janet Nadler says over 5,500 people attended the event this year, one thousand more than 2006 making it the largest attendance for a DisAbility Expo in Australia.
Presented in partnership with Workskil, the annual exhibition is a fun day for persons with a disability, family, parents, carers and friends with over 120 exhibitors displaying their products and services and information that improve the lives of those with disabilities.
There were also other events and activities available to those who attended throughout the day including leisure, art and lifestyle activities; further education and employment assistance; community recreation, support and social activities and free workshops, sporting clinics and entertainment.
This year’s expo included the exciting amalgamation of the Post School Options Expo, providing students with a disability, their parents, carers and teachers with the opportunity to learn about further education, employment and community participation options available after leaving school.
The DisAbility Expo is a celebration of everybody’s diversity, abilities and potential. If you didn’t attend this year, make sure you make a date in your diary to attend the 2008 event.
