News

As SA Finalists of the National Work and Family Awards for 2007, Interwork was invited to share our work-life balance experiences at yesterday's official opening of SafeWork 2007.

Launched by the Minister for Industrial Relations, the Hon Michael Wright MP, the morning’s ‘Work-Life Balance in a Modern World’ session at the Stamford Plaza was both entertaining and informative providing an opportunity to hear first-hand from successful working professionals on how they try to balance their career demands with family life.

The session featured a hypothetical interview with panellists Barb Pocock, Director for the Centre for Work + Life, University of South Australia;  Dominque Schwartz, ABC news presenter and journalist; and Graham Cornes, SA football personality and media commentator, hosted by comedian and former Nova 919 co-host Jodie J. Hill.

The event also included speeches from the 2006 Safe Work Award champions who shared their stories on how they have improved the health and safety of staff in their organisations.

An annual event, SafeWork 2007 is a fortnight of FREE safety-related workshops and events held across South Australia. Further information is available at http://www.safework.sa.gov.au

Thanks to Michelle Hogan, Project Manager, Work Life Balance Strategy and staff from SafeWork SA for the opportunity to participate in the launch.
