A revolutionary website that gives children with disabilities their own voice  has been launched in South Australia.

The 'What I'd like you to know about me!' resource - created by Life's for Living Inc.(a not for profit disability support service in South Australia) – allows children and their families to share their child's story online for the first time.

Stories are easily created on the www.aboutme.org.au website and can be provided to carers, family members or other health and education professionals to give an insight into how best to support the child.

Entries are made under page topics such as My World, Skills and Abilities, and This is What You Need to Know to Support Me. These pages then become a printable book of their own stories including abilities, ambitions and achievements.
Life's for Living provides support and training on how to use the resource which comes at a cost of a once off fee of $50 (including GST), that allows families to use the resource for up to two children.

For further information, contact Julie Brookes, Training and Promotions Officer, on 0407 728 773 or info@aboutme.org.au, or visit www.aboutme.org.au.
