Our Board
Interwork is governed by a Board of Directors which consists of five elected members. Of the five, there are four Australian Board members, three of whom are non-executive and independent of the organisation. The CEO is an executive director. There is one UK-based elected member representing the Shaw Trust organisation. Additionally, there are three Interwork Senior Managers that serve as Key Officers to the Board of Directors.
Our Directors volunteer their services and wide-ranging professional expertise to provide strategic leadership, cultural direction and policies in accordance with Interwork's constitution.
The Interwork Board members are commercially astute and contribute considerable specialised expertise for the development of policy and strategy and sound corporate governance.
The Board ensures the organisation operates with the efficiencies of a traditional for profit business to ensure access and equity for clients and service excellence for contracting organisations and all stakeholders.

Mr John Harvey Director, Chairman Fellow, Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia. Fellow, Australian Institute of Company Directors. John is a Chartered Accountant and Business Advisor specialising in management consulting, due diligence and business valuation. He was formerly Managing Director of Dembicon Pty Ltd and Norman’s Wines Ltd and Partner in Charge at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu in South Australia. John’s community involvement is extensive and includes positions on the boards of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and Australia Red Cross Independent Living Centre. |

Ms Kay Nicholas Director, Deputy Chair Bachelor of Arts in Social Science Kay has over 20 years’ management experience in disability related employment and workers compensation fields. Until September 2006, Kay was General Manager for WorkCover Corporation, spanning a number of different roles including Provider Services, Premiums, Occupational Health and Safety and Public Affairs including marketing, government and stakeholder relations. Kay has a Bachelor of Arts in the Social Sciences from Adelaide University, and is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She has been a Director for the Independent Living Centre and is currently Chair of the Cabra Dominican College Council. |

Mr Mark McElhinney Director, Past Chairman Certificate III Information Technology, various Certificates in Marketing and Sales. Mark is Currently working with the Salvation Army Employment Plus, working with the SME and corporate markets to build job vacancy pipelines for job seekers. He previously developed a national call centre for Mobile Upgrade Centre, and has held a number of senior marketing and sales roles with HomeStart Finance, Galaxy TV, ICI Dulux, Alcan Aluminium and Telstra. |

Mrs Rosemary Wallage GAICD, CAHRI, PDipHR Director, Chief Executive Officer Associate Fellow Australian Human Resources Institute, Tertiary level Marketing Retail and Human Resource Management. Rosemary was head of Corporate Human Resources at Sheridan Australia and Bruck Textiles prior to joining Interwork in 2003. Her experience spans the finance, retailing, manufacturing and consulting sectors with roles at John Martin, Hindmarsh Building Society and Adelaide Bank where at various times she managed both Human Resources and Product Sales. Past Directorships include Director of Ostara Australia and ACE National. Rosemary is an Associate Fellow of the Australia Human Resources Institute and her community affiliations include amongst others, board roles on Business SA, SSABSA and WorkCover. |

Mr Colin Nicholls General Manager, Corporate Services and Company Secretary Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Economics, Certified Practicing Accountant. Colin is a CPA qualified accountant and has held senior management positions in companies such as Elders, Saab Systems, BAE Systems, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Hindmarsh Adelaide Building Society and the South Australian Gas Company. These diverse industries and disciplines have provided extensive experience in, and exposure to, finance, commercial and operational issues. |

Mr Niel Mauriello General Manager, Strategic Business Post Graduate Qualifications Business Management, Bachelor of Social Work. Niel has held senior management positions in companies such as QBE Mercantile Mutual Workers Compensation (SA) as State Manager, SA Police Manager for their medical, health and OHS areas and at Alfreda Rehabilitation Services a specialist medical as Deputy Executive Officer. These diverse industries and disciplines have provided extensive experience in, and exposure to, a range of service models and platforms. |

Mr Garry Velt General Manager, Employment and Community Services Bachelor of Arts (Hons), Diploma in Social Science, Diploma in Business Management. Garry has worked in Employment Services for 13 years and managed the operations of South Australia’s largest Job Network providers, Job Prospects and Workskil. He was a founding Director of Nexus Recruitment and Training and the Managing Director of Managan Recruitment. Garry’s team supports Interwork’s strategic intent and works to expand services to more clients. |
